If my calculations are right, I'm getting this in just under the wire for the Mood to Scrap challenge posted 1/14/13. I had first thought I would do a “You and Me” type LO with this photo. Garden Girl Jana Werner's LO is “You and Me.” The video challenges us to do layouts inspired by a Pinterest board that is nothing but ampersands, and I was especially attracted to an ampersand that looked hand-painted. But other than that I wasn't sure of the details.A few days later, I came across an art journal challenge that was to journal about a fight. This photo of my DH and me is at a hotel where we had gone to cool off (on a cold enough day) after a rancorous city council meeting in the city across the river from us. Later on, I'm going to buy some holiday paper on sale and journal about how pretty these lights are. But today I am journaling the back story, which is the fight between my city and the neighboring city. Because of the Two Peas inspiration, the journaling is also about how my husband and I may not always agree, but in this we do, even if others oppose or don't understand us. (Both of which are the case when it comes to some of our friends.) I also used a second part of this art journal prompt, which was stamping with bleach.
