Pencil Lines Sketch #42Rachel’s favorite picture book as a child was “Whose Mouse Are You?” By Robert Kraus. At a very young age, she had the book memorized and could recite it with me as I read it.On her 4th birthday, I went to a library conference and Mr. Kraus and illustrator Jose Aruego were there. They both signed her book and Jose drew a special picture in it just for Rachel.Who would have figured that at age 32, Rachel would start dating a man who everyone knows as “Mouse”? So I had to have Rachel & Steve (aka Mouse) pose for a picture with the book and Rachel’s shirt that my cousin Harriett had illustrated for her those twenty some odd years ago.So, Steve, whose Mouse are you? You’re Rachel’s Mouse, aren’t you?
