At the Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps Yahoo Group, Michael's challenge for September is to make something that looks like enamel cloisonne. The instructions said to emboss the image in gold and use whatever color medium that we thought would give us the look we needed. I used Dimensional Pearls. First, I tried it full strength, but it was much too thick. Then I squirted some onto a plastic lid and misted it with water a few times, and painted with the mixture. That worked well. The embossing kept the paint in place, and I was able to put on a lot. The embossing also repelled the paint at the edges so I had to go back and add more in the areas where that was most obvious. I put a second coat on most of it.
Now that I've looked at the scans, I see more places where the edges are too white, but they are not so noticeable IRL; they are magnified here.
