Here's my entry into Robin's Circle Journal! Her theme was “The Games We Play”, so I was inspired to use some of the cool products out there that fall in line with this theme, as well as some everyday products. Very inspired by Ms. Heidi Swapp from my CKU class to use playing cards.

The first page (top left is a bit blurry due to bulk) contains a little sewn envelope/library card I made that contains a mini book (one of the later pics) with the rules to one of the games I mention in my journalling. The idea for the metal frame with a portion of a playing card behind it came from the famous Heidi Swapp from a class I took at CKU. Cut the page pebbles square. Rusty Pickle paper and some RS Nostalgiques playing card stickers. Also used my label maker, my own handwriting and some tickets. Jounrnaling page is Lucida Sans Typewriter font, some more tickets sanded and stamped with my PSX Sketchbox letter stamps.

the mini book is made by useing two playing cards for the cover of. I decorated the front wtih an MM definition and the four suits cut from actual playing cards. Inside I took Rusty Pickle paper and put it back to back to create the ‘guts’ of the book. Then I printed the rules on vellum and adhered. The book is held together with two large brands.

The sign in card is pretty self explanatory…nothing too exciting there. MAMBI Scrappy Chic letter stickers on the back and used my label maker.

This was a fun one! Thanks a bunch Robin. And it was a real treat to look at your work up close :). Rachel
