As I commented on the other page about pickling I used to do lots of things with a former neighbor. She taught me about a lot about canning, baking and many more things. You are bringing back some great memories for me! The page is great!
Oh my gosh...you are so brave. That is alot of pickles but they look beautiful in the jars. What a great idea for a LO. I like the block design and the hidden journaling. Of great...now I want a pickle!
This was my first attempt at pickling. I've canned & jammed, but never pickled. So I made a batch of sweet bread & butter (15 jars) and another batch of dill (16 jars). Each batch called for 9lbs of cucumbers. Since all my cucumbers (well- 90%+) were large- I sliced them long ways for sandwiches. It was messy- as when you poor the hot 'syrup' into the packed jars- not all of it went in the jar. Now to wait 3 weeks before I know if the dill batch came out ok. I'm using up a jar of store-bought bread & butter before I open one in that batch- the package said it would be ready in 24hrs. We shall see.
This is for the Ugly Paper challenge, Cricut challenge, Stamping challenge & Compliment Corner. I used Cricut ArtBooking to cut the title (welding w/CCR). I also used Art Philosophy to cut the circles for the tops of all my jars. Under the bottom pickle jar pic is hidden journaling- I put the photos in a CTMH Flip Flap on top of the page protector so that I could get a close up of each batch I made and also the description of what I did.
Thanks for looking & as always I appreciate your comments. Have a blessed day.
