I agree, it is a very sweet photo! Would it detract from the layout if you centered it in the space in a smaller size and just left white space around it? Good luck with the CGI! I always just assume you are the photoshop guru and everything is deliberate since I am so very bad at it. ;)
What a beautiful home! I love the colors and the lines of this! I know on my simple 4-in-1 printer when you scan, you have the ability to scan at either a higher resolution or enlarge the photo. I once scanned a photo in at 1200! That is NOT recommended because the file size was HUGE!. Have you tried scanning it in at a higher resolution since this weekend?
OK, Leanne, I am going to dig that picture out and rescan it at the highest resolution, and send it to you as a tiff file (as soon as I figure out how to to it. At this point, I have just been using the default settings on the scanner, so I do not even know how to manipulate them, but I might as well learn now, right?
Ilene, I'd be happy to try. When scanning pics and enlarging them, the quality is limited. (Unless you have CSI quality tools. :) ) How is your scanner? Did you scan it at the highest quality? What format did you save it in? Did you edit it? If you scan the original pic at the highest setting you can, then you can email it to me at "[email protected]" . If you save it as a TIF file it will be better quality than a jpeg. Either one will be fine, though. :)
Florrie, I did not intentionally filter that middle photo. It was scanned, and I blew it up, way up, maybe too much. I tried to fit it into that space and I did not do a great job, but I put it there because it reflected a warm, sweet and vulnerable side of myself, that I rarely show, but which that picture captured. I wish I was better at the photo editing and scanning so I could make that picture really clear. Does anybody have any suggestions? Does anybody want a photo editing project? Leanne, dear, are you there?
I love the way the two pages balance (I always seem to say that to you don't I?) and the colors! I'm not sure I'm crazy about the filtered photo in the middle on the left hand page. Everything else seems so clear and direct that it makes that photo stand out too much. I love the "shadow" on the right side of both pages where the "papers" join. Was there a reason you didn't do that on the left side as well? Thanks!

This house was my beloved home from 1983-1992. We had to leave it behind when my husband went into the ministry. Though I hated living in Maine, it was very hard for me to give up this house. I left it believing that I might never again have a home that I loved so much, which was for me a terrible loss, because 'home' means so much more to me than a structure. You can see that I was willing to give up something that was so important to me for the sake of my husband's calling. And God saw that too. I prayed, 'God, please give me a new home. It doesn't have to be as big and fancy as the one I had, but I need a place where I feel safe.' So God rewarded me with a new home. It was a simple five room ranch house, barely big enough to carry us through our days in seminary, but affordable on my income without help from my husband. And now, if you look through my home album, you will see that it has become a wonderful sanctuary where I spend all of my days in security. I love it so much, I feel deprived being in hotels when we are away from home. God knew what was important to me and rewarded me for sacrificing to do His will. If you want to follow this thread, I invite you to look at my home album, where you will see the sanctuary God has given me. I have carved a wall plaque that says in Chinese "Tian Tze", which means "God's Gift." All the Chinese people who pass by find it confusing that a white family has that hanging on their house.
