Wow! This is beautiful! It sounds like a neat technique, but a bit advanced for a newbie stamper like me! Please let me know when you post your tutorial! I love it!
This is another masking technique I've been working to master. Actually, it's reverse masking. I first stamped the horse on a paper that is peel and stick like post-it notes. I cut the horse out with my xacto knife. I lifted the horse out and using the remains (the paper that was left with a hole the shape of the horse, make sense?) Anyways. on a piece of white cardstock I stamped the horse w/versafine black ink, then I placed the paper with the 'hole' in it over the top so the white paper surrounding the horse is protected. I stamped again now with a flag background stamp..(hence the star on the horses neck and the wavy stripes on his rump). With water color pencils I colored the blue around the star and did his face a lighter blue, then w/red I did his stripes. When I was done I cut him out w/and xacto knife. I tore the red and dark blue and mounted it on a white card, then pop-dotted the horse on top. The white stars on the blue background were punched from white cardstock with my 'folk star' punch. Hope you like this! Would love your comments!
