After touring the factory Bill walked across the parking lot to a frame doorway and stood in it for a picture. He noticed a house and gardens on the other side of the framed doorway and asked at the factory if it was someone's home. They told us it was the owner's home (of the Batik Factory) with private gardens and their family temples. Then they offered to take our group to see it. I thought a temple was always a big building but actually, for the Hindu faith it can also be a small structure, often on a post, where offerings to the gods are placed. Incense is burned inside or around each small temple. There are many Hindu gods and each temple is for only one god so they had several small temples for different gods. There was also an open temple where the family goes to pray and it included a cage-type structure where additional offerings are placed. It is not open to the public or customers who visit the batik factory but they were very kind and escorted us and answered our questions as we explored the property.
