I love how you cut the names of the formations into the journaling cards next to the pictures! Great idea!
And thanks for the warning about this cave. I am afraid of heights and don't do well in caves in general because of my claustrophobia so while I love to explore, this is definitely not be somewhere I should go!
You should try ziplining to conquer your fear. It worked for me. I was sick of being scared so one time when we were in the Caribbean, I signed us up for a zipline. It was incredible and I have been several times since. I still don't like heights but I'm not as scared as before. Love how you did the collage with the names of the caves.
I would probably freak because I am so claustrophobic but it is gorgeous! I love how you incorporated the squirrel onto this page. He adds continuity to the trip for sure!
Adorable little squirrel in the upper right! I can see how this would be difficult for someone who doesn't like heights. I'm fine as long as I don't have to walk onto a ledge that feels very secure with strong railing. I might have had a problem with this place. I love the way you put the little signs to explain the photos. Great job!
I created this LO for my least favorite spot to visit in all of the South Dakota Black Hills area so far. I am afraid of heights and this tour was horrible for me. My DH pointed out that technically I was underground so fear of heights shouldn't have been a factor, but I see on the Jewel Cave official website there is now a warning for people with this fear. I barely made it but for the black tarps under the walkways and the tapping of a cheap ring I was wearing on the railing as I inched along. UGH! Thank goodness there were a few landings between the catwalks. It was at one of these that my DH and I are posing in front of a flowstone formation that is called Jabba the Hut (because of who/what it resembles of course). We happened to have a Wampa as a traveling companion for that trip so we both HAD to pose with it of course. There is journaling hidden behind the largest photo but it mostly just repeats what I just told you all.
I was inspired by a sketch found at this site: http://nicholmagouirk.typepad.com/things_that_really_matter/2011/09/scrapbook-stamping-september-2011.html
