Oh Sonja, this is beautiful and so creative. The rainbow patterned paper and the washi gave your layout that extra touch of rainbow colors. I too like the raindrops and the sparkle of the sequins. Well done.
Like the inked edges of the photo. Like the gelatos usage on the background paper with the raindrop stencils too and the clear pebbles and the clear letters. Like that you just used a few rainbow elements to let the one in the photo shine out more I think.
Sonja this takes the cake! I LOVE it!!! Great pic and your bg work and e,bellies squee :D Those pebbles are perfect. I make them with jump beads and melt them in my toaster oven lol. Nice job girlie xoxo
We've had a very wet, wet start to 2017 here in So Cal and, while it is definitely needed, it made daily life difficult! Finally at the end of February, after the worst storm to hit SoCal in 12 years, we had the most EPIC rainbow hovering over the Glendale/Foothills and I got to follow it all the way home. Not sure if it was a Great-Flood-like promise, but we haven't had much rain since! Of course I wanted to scrap this as soon as I could, though I'm not sure this particular photo really shows the absolute epicness of that rainbow. It really was very vivid and you could see the whole arch!
I created this for the bonus song for the March Music Challenge: Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. This song is special to me because its the one I walked down the aisle to at DH and my wedding - almost 10 years ago! Also for the April Music Challenge; Category 1 Lyrics w/ twist and my Hoarders Challenge. Everything here is old old old, except that washi tape!
Also for Hoarders, I tried a new technique with my gelatos. I saw it on YouTube a while back and just haven't tried it. This rainy page seemed the perfect opportunity. I truly had NO idea until I sat down how this page was going to look, but I just started playing and out it came! I used a piece of plastic from the cover of one of my embellishment packs, scribbled some blue and then gray gelato on it, misted it and mixed with my finger and then 'stamped' it all over the page. (It should be noted I used the mask and texture paste first.) Then I went back with the gelato and my watercolor brush and defined the edges of some of the raindrops. LOVE the effect and it turned out perfect for this page! TFL!
