Journaling: Soda Springs—carbonated, cold water bubbling out of the ground is protected within a log enclosure - Parsons Memorial Lodge. The Lodge is a small building built in 1915 by the Sierra Club at the northern end of Tuolumne Meadows at an elevation of 8640 feet. The Lodge is a simple, humble, yet massive structure of approximately 1040 square feet. The building is symmetrical and rectangular in plan. The masterfully executed rubble stone masonry is laid in a reinforced concrete core. It was one of the earliest structures built of stone in a national park.
