Dan was the man I thought I'd never find. So easy to be with; so charming and funny. The chemistry was there, and I felt so safe with him in every way. He made me feel as if I was the only one, although I knew I wasn't. There came a time when I knew that he was The one, even if he didn't feel the same. I was ready and hoping for forever, but I knew he had been hurt and was wary about trusting. That was okay with me- I'd been dating and knew that no one measured up to the kind of man he was. If he never chose me, I was glad to be with him as long as I could. We've been married for 17 years now, and there's been no looking back. He will always be my forever.

i love this picture of us. it looks kind of Renaissance, doesn't it? Taken on Valentine's Day 2019 at our favorite speakeasy restaurant. You can't tell, but I was running a fever and felt like hell. :) Sorry for the glare on the pic.
