I loved that you used the anchor paper for this one - so perfect! How interesting that it was in Tokyo Bay when the peace treaty to end WWII was signed. We were just in Tokyo Bay last fall in Yokohama. So much history there. Looking forward to this series of layouts!
Journaling: There are several museums in Little Rock. We decided to go to the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum which was not far from our RV Park in North Little Rock. There is a museum with exhibits and a guided tour of a submarine. The museum was small but well done but what we really enjoyed was the tour. Our tour guide was a submariner veteran and was very knowledgeable.
This is the only place other than Hawaii to have two naval vessels that bookend World War II. The longest-serving submarine in the world, USS Razorback, was in Tokyo Bay during Japan’s surrender signaling the end of WW II. In 2015, the submarine was joined by the tugboat USS Hoga, known for her heroic actions in Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941 – the beginning of WW II.
