what a lovely two page multi photo lo. I love that you were also able to include so much journaling without disturbing the lovely series/flow of photos.
How freakin' creative you were with the punch at the left page. It really was a great idea. Actually, I really like the whole way you did the background with the layering of papers and inking. Did you see the 400 year old tree? It must be HUGE.
This is wonderful Susan - so interesting reading your journaling - I am learning so much about wine! Never heard the expressions big legs - interesting phrase. I'm not sure what it means though, but sounds interesting. See - I am learning about wine form you. I wondered where the name of the Winery came from, glad you explained it!
Page 1 I used a brochure, business card and postcard in addition to the pictures. pp - Karen Foster, stickers - Reminisce, Creative Imaginations, ink - Tim Holtz, doilies - stash
Journaling: Wedding Oak Winery named for the historic 400 year old matrimonial oak near their winery in San Saba. All wines are made from Texas grapes. We had a choice of different flights; Dennis picked the all red one and I picked the mix of white and red. Before that though we were offered a complimentary taste of their new wine – Baby’s Breath – a Viognier with a flowery nose and good legs. We liked it and we bought a bottle!
Dennis’ tasting began with the Tioja – blend of Tempranillo, Granache, Graciano &Tannat – very nice. Then the Sangiovese (had a touch of tannat to give it an edge) – crisp, soft tannis. Next Regency Bridge – blend of Graciano (Italian grape), Tempranillo, Granache & Tannat – smokey nose, garnet color, big legs – good but not our favorite). Terre Rouge was next – blend of Estate Syrah, Granache, Mouvedre, Cinsault –earthy, big legs, touch of spicy finish. Last – Texedo Red – blend of Dolcetto, Montepuliciano, Sangiovese, Tannat- big legs, complex – we ended up buying a bottle before we left Fredericksburg.
My tasting began with the Tre Vi – a blend of Viognier, Vermentino and Verdelho (Portuguese grape). It was lighter and became better as it warmed. Next another white – Bridal Veil – blend of Trebbiano and Vermentino which was very good. My next one was Rosé de Dolcetto – with strawberry notes- nice. Moving on to the reds I tasted 2 of the same ones Dennis had. Tioja & Terre Rouge.
At the end they gave us a taste of their Tempranillo Reserve – which was excellent.
