Incredible photos my friend! What beauty you are capturing on your walks! Love how the hint of the pumpkin matting reflects the color in the Caspian's bill.
I'm learning already. I remember the Artic Terns near the polar ice cap - they are on many of the little island ports. They lay their eggs in the rocks on the side of the road and other odd places on the ground. If you walk close they attack and dive-bomb you and can be dangerous! So in those ports you are told to take a long umbrella with you or something to defend yourself. When you leave the ship there is a bucket of cane-type sticks for passengers to use to defend themselves! I wonder if these are aggressive like that, or lay their eggs on the side of the road. Most likely the Arctic turns were just protecting their nests from the people walking down the road near them.
Great photos and I love that you put he name and species name. I also love how the matting so perfectly matches the birds! I thought they were getting ready to have relations to *blush*
They are cool birds! I don't think that I have ever seen them - I'd remember that red beak and black head top. I love the use of just cardstock for this LO - puts the focus on the birds and the and the pumpkin mats draw your eyes to them!
Love the large photos! Again, you're tuned into the bird colours with the papers, love the red matting - that is one wicked looking beak!!! The faux eyelets are cool, and the details about the tern are lovely. A very educational LO, ha ha!
The photo of one standing on the other just cracks me up. No, they aren't getting ready to do the "wild thing." They don't breed in Florida. Caspian terns are the largest tern in the world and you have to love the bright red beak! This is part of the Bird Adventure album.
Thank you so much for your visit. It means the world to me.
