BEAUTIFULLY done. What a lovely tribute to your Grandmother. I love that you created and used embellies that have a special meaning. This is definitely a family treasure.
So artfully created! I love how you created such a beautiful layout with so many thoughtful items that remind you of your grandmother. A true treasure.
Your gorgeous LO fuels so many emotions and shows how much you loved your dear grandmother! The bright colours reflect the passion with which you created this design. How lovely to pick out the things that remind you of her! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creation, this sure is a priceless keepsake!
So very beautiful and creative page! First of all, love your story! It is filled out with your love! Love the fans, the lace and the sentiment. All other details are so lovely! This is a great tribute to your grandmother!
Your description brought tears to my eyes. The thought and love you put into this page shines through. The personal touches (hibiscus flowers, fans, bird & cage and the sentiment) all characterize her perfectly. The doily and old lace reminds me of mom too. Thanks for honouring her in this very special way.
I had the privilege of knowing all four of my grandparents and two of my great grandparents. My grandmother, in this photo, passed away in 2018, and she was my last living grand parent. We were close and it was very sad, but she did live to be 97, nearly 98. This photo is meaningful for me because I tried to incorporate embellishments that gave insight into her personality. She loved fans, and I inherited two of hers and love them. She had quite a collection of them and used them often. She also had a knack for healing birds and bringing them back to good health. She had one named Walter, and when he was well enough and she let him go, he came back every year to see her. When he stopped, she knew he must have died. Also, my grandmother loved to garden in her younger days and lived in a tropical place before moving to Canada. So the hibiscus remind me of her. She also said that every day one should have a good belly laugh, and the sentiment I used gave the same idea.
I used my Pagoda Cricut cartridge to cut the fans, and I used an old piece of lace I've had since I was a child, to use on just the right layout (the blue and white daisy chain). I also used the Circuit to cut the hibiscus and humming bird.
My husband's face is blurred because he doesn't like his face to be posted online. But I got his permission to post it this way.
Thank you to my mom for the background paper.
TO ALL WHO LOOK AT AND/OR COMMENT ON THIS LAYOUT, THANK YOU.
