Love your page. Fantastic stenciling And embossing! You are so clever and creative to use the black and white images behind the color versions. My husband and I got to see a runestone in Minnesota several years ago. So interesting that they traveled so far!
The history behind the stone and LO are fascinating - and your LO...I just love all the elements. Thanks for sharing the process - especially for the rainbow background and shadow figure. I want to try that!!!
What a fascinating and interesting layout! I had never heard of a Runestone so just did a little research to find out what they are. I'm glad you did a layout about this significant piece of history that is so important to your mom. I read the story about how your mother came to be there and the hardships they were experiencing and I see why this means so much to her. Thank you for showing the closeup of your journaling and thank you for sharing this layout and her story.
This ancient Runestone is of great significance to my Mum. I captured the essence of it in my journaling which is hidden underneath the large photo.
My background is a paper from the Craft Consortium's Grunge (light tones) Collection. I stencilled the rainbow and figure, and used parchment paper for matting the photos. I die cut the title and used the negative frame, adding parchment to make the letters stand out more.
Initially it was my plan to work with large black and white photos , but I did not like the dull images, so I used them for matting the coloured versions. I die cut various circles and dry embossed them for texture. The rainbow was inked using distress oxides and a small sponge.
