Only a mum can feel all that and more. We are all proud of him and celebrate with you for him. Congratulations to a 2021 survivor. Proof that ther is nothing more powerful than one's own determination. Whilst not the ceremony wanted or craved, it still will be a memory and you have done well to turn it into a positive memory with your pages. Congrats to you as the mum who stuck in there with him.
The pandemic has taken so much from everyone. Your story of sadness and proudness experienced in the same moment is so heartfelt. The love you have for Joe shines through ever page you create. It is so nice that Joe and his classmates were able to create their own graduation pictures. Beautiful memory page...Carol
It is so sad that he couldn't have an in-person graduation and all that goes with it - with family and friends and parties. But you are right the most important thing is that he graduated!
Well written by a Mom who feels disappointed and happy at the same time. I'm sure your son knows how proud you are of him. There will be more milestones to celebrate, perhaps that will lessen the disappointment of this one. There are other Mom's in the same boots, maybe together you can effect a change for the next class. Just a thought.
