I absolutely loved a card I saw by a Stampin' Up! hobby demo, Tracey Prieskorn (Addictstamper on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CdBJ0W3LMA2/), and decided to try a CASE. I have a *lot* of male birthdays to take care of in June, so this looked like a fun card to make.
I switched up layers a bit from the original, I wanted to use an embossing folder, and I wanted to use a little bit more of my cork paper. I really wish I'd gotten more of it before it disappeared (the cork paper). I'd planned on doing the stamping on the middle strip, but then I spotted new ribbon sitting on my table. So, I grabbed it and decided not to stamp on the center strip. Well, that little change messed up my plans for tree die cuts, as I managed to get ahead of myself again and was planting the bear and sentiment and whatnot before the trees, and so I had to improvise a little. I really wanted my trees to go down more below the strip, but I did what I could in the way of fixing.
Then, I messed up my tree on the inside, too. I could have sworn I'd put it toward the bottom and not the top. Yeah. So, used the reverse side of the birds to try and "plant" the tree, and then added the birds up top. The birds are from the Mountain Air stamp set and are supposed to be a "reversible" stamp, but there isn't enough of a stamp to hold it to a block on the reverse, so I used tweezers to stamp. Any port in a storm, so to speak...
It's not a perfect, and it is a bit different than I'd planned, I made some mistakes, but I'm ok with it.
