I think your card is fabulous! The vibrant colours and the brush stroke effects provide distinct definition of each flower and let them stand out beautifully from the background. I love the contrasting gold sentiment and borders.
So this is my first attempt at watercoloring flowers. I think it turned out ok. The only regret that I have is the paper I chose as a background. Everything blends together and the flowers dont stand out. Darn, will have to try again. This is a standard slimline card made with white cardstock. I used an old patterned paper (Paper Wishes) to cover the front of my card. I die cut from gold mirror card the two border pieces.
I used dies from Crafters Companion to die cut the flowers from white cardstock. I have a watercolor set and used it to color my flowers. I layered them up when dry and added a few foam pads so that I could get more dimension (so that it would feel like a bouquet). I added a purple gingham ribbon at the bottom. I die cut the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studios Thin Words set. (I backed some gold mirror card with double sided adhesive and then did my cutting. This way all I had to do was peel and stick.) The dragonfly comes from Crafters Companion (3 die set). I cut him (her?) from Tonic Studios Water Sprite specialty cardstock and added to my card. I did not glue the tail down, letting it lift off the card. In the picture it looks like I added a jewel to the head. I didnt. Its the cardstock. I have some chunky glitter in a light blue color. I used this to add bits here and there on my card.
