I'd been dying to use this gorgeous image from the SU! 'Henna Hearts' release and . . . Voila! My 40th wedding anniversary! The perfect occasion. The 40th is the 'ruby' anniversary, which made the red, jeweled heart the perfect counterpoint to the silver-white-black theme.

I learned an important lesson in the making of this card, however, and I'll share it with you now to save you some time and stress down the road: NEVER use Versafine ink on a pearlescent cardstock. Even after hitting it with a heat gun and allowing it to set overnight, it just sat on top of the paper, not absorbing fully into it. It will - and did - smear with the slightest touch. In the end, I had to use a totally different cardstock for the stamped panel (See the slight difference in color cast?) and then it worked just fine. I love Versafine for detailed black stamping on other cs but it did not play well with the pearlescent. Anyway, DH loved the card, and I'm beginning to think this relationship might work out after all. ;o)
