Im here to share a quick layout that I am ABSOLUTELY in LOVE with!!! Probably, because it showcases one of my favorite people - my son TJ! (hey son ) I caught him and his "swag" off guard and he was ready for the close-up!!
We live in Minnesota - Fall is short and sweet. Winter takes up all the "Season allowance" . So I was able to capture him on a crisp Fall day - Lucky me!
Anywhoo..enough about my oldest, first born bundle of 27 year old joy... I played around with a couple techniques with this fun layout. I used the 12" Bubbles Stencil and the 5x9" Grunge Brick Stencil.
I used some black ink for the (bottom) brick stencil to add a bit of dimension. I used the bubble stencil along with some coordinating paint and texture paste to give it more of a physical texture. I used my sewing machine to go over - loosely - the bubble pasted circles to add more fun to this playful layout. I did that with hot pink thread. For my focal point, do you want to guess what I used?? A GIFT BAG AND SCRAPS!! Yes !! I received a gift bag (I'd already used all the goodies ), and could not throw away the bag. It was too cute. I was saving it for something special. When I decided to do this layout of my son, and saw how vibrant the photos were.. I knew I had to use the bag! I cut out a ton of the triangles from the bag and added them around the layout. I used some scraps, that I also could not throw away and die cut different types of circles for the background of my layout. The photos are popped up on dimensionals to differentiate them from the background and create more of a focus on him. I added some splatters to finish the mixed-media element of my layout. Finally I used some words from my stash to label how I felt. It is worded appropriately : HAPPY DAY. Because it was.
