DCG8: I like the layout, colors and elements. But if you are going to use a large blurry photo you should consider running it through some art filters/plugins to make it fun and attractive in and of itself. Run it through something like unsharpen/smart sharpen, then through a watercolor filter or something. You get the context you want and vitalize the image itself that way. I just did that for an image my wife wanted to use in her layout:

This was a terrible image before I started manipulating it.
You had me fooled...I thought it was the beach. Wonderful use of ecuts and awesome journaling. So cute. You may want to consider dropping a slight shadow on your tag to give it a little dimension. Just a thought.
oh, thats adorable. I normaly get ried of pages of peoples kids fast, but this one realy stands out! Its actualy unique, with a very indevidual concept. nicely done!
I was inspired to create this after receiving the free e-cuts beach theme. I saw this photo and thought of an ironic way to use them, for my son's first tromp through the sand at our playground. I only altered the photo with cropping and an emboss but I did alter many of the elements from the kits that I used to make this my own.
