The base of the canvas got a dose of texture with modeling paste through a stencil. I then used watercolor to add color, letting it pool in random spots for a pretty background effect.

I then layered on flowers, die cut leaves, ephemera and of course, three pretty butterflies! I really wanted to keep this project simple to let the butterflies shine in all their natural beauty.
