THE ROMAN: Were the Romans Spartans? Yes, Rome conquered Sparta and the rest of Greece in 146 BC, though Sparta was only a shadow of itself by then. When the Roman Empire was split in two (395 AD), Sparta became part of the Eastern Roman Empire, which is now known as the Byzantine Empire. The Romans attacked Sparta when the parley ended but the Spartans withstood the initial allied assaults. Nabis, however, seeing that the situation was hopeless, agreed to surrender the city to the Romans. The Romans forced Nabis to abandon Argos and most of the coastal cities of Laconia.

In reference to a real photo of 'Roman History Calendar' - (mine) I created this in Illustrator and finished to polish it off in Photoshop for better resolution.
I have been asked if my Roman Maximus is a centurion or primus pilus? The answer I have given is CENTURION. Why? This Centurion is/was responsible for the well-being and training of all of the soldiers in his century. This included setting watches, assigning work, and making sure his troops got their share of supplies from the camp quartermaster. A Centurion also led his troops in battle and was responsible for giving them courage. "The Jack of Knowing it All!" LOL

My handsome digital Roman Spartan Maximus (bust style) as its best.
Framed and non framed. Hehe I have been working with glitter brushes in illustrator to give the effect of an old oil painting. Something new I have been trying out. Hehe
In all I think it turned out "awesome". What'd you think?
