Before stitching this design, I used colored pencils on a die-cut to see where the floss should go (3rd photo). Then I stitched the leaves and stem first using a size 8 floss (4th photo). Once that was done, it was easy to stitch the flowers using a size 5 floss. If you stitch the flowers first, it is more difficult to place the stems. I made one change. I followed the lines on the die to stitch the leaves on the birthday card, but I didnt like the way the leaf on the right side looked so I changed it on the thinking-of-you card so that the leaf on the right matched the leaf on the left (5th photo)
