I made several of the inlaid design. Thank you, Nora, for letting me use your die. I used double-sided adhesive on text-weight cardstock to back the die-cut. That made it simple to place the squares. I wanted to make the placement of the pieces random. After making one card front, I realized I needed to define the shape of the star by placing a dark green square at the end of each spoke of the star. I also defined the center area and chose to use white squares in holes that were not a part of the star. After that, I just randomly placed the colors so that there were about three of each one in each spoke of the star. Then I filled in the rest with white squares.

For the cross-stitch design, I used removable tape to secure a die-cut to heavy cardstock. Then I pierced a hold in the corner of each square. (I got this idea after watching a video by Zsoka Marko. She used a cut file to do pretty much the same thing.) This wasn't easy. I made the holes larger on the gray card, and that was a mistake. Also, the gray card wasn't sturdy enough. I used gray because I thought the light colors of floss didn't show up well on the white cardstock. Actually, it showed up better on the white than it did on the gray.
