I wanted to have a set of cards to give as birthday or Christmas gifts that i tie a string around and give as a set to the recipient. This card was simple enough to make multiple cards. I used Versa Ink in Nocturne (permanent) to stamp the lady onto white cardstock, eight stamps per 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I used an acrylic block to put the unattached red rubber UnityStampCo.com stamp on and just eyed it for placement, putting four across, leaving enough of a margin to cut it out using scissors. I guess dies aren't always needed are they? I guess it's called fussy cutting. I just paced myself and fussy cut sometimes and other times daubed the Altenew Artic and Carribean Sky for the sky blue background. I used my gemini junior to die cut the speckled edged black cardstock and then the speckled edge white cardstock layer, gluing each layer with Gina K Connect dot glue. The last picture shows the sentiment 'Hope you have a beautiful summer' that i used my tim holtz tonic paper trimmer to cut around. It's difficult to eye even margins around the phrase and i just shrugged and realized it will look handmade, which is the point of making these by hand afterall isn't it. So i just glued them carefully just above the elbows after trying one at the bottom of the card and didn't like that one as well but like the single line across the bottom of the card for the saying. It's okay to try it different ways, it's how we learn what we like and are attracted to artistically. I don't draw and find working with stamps is a way of using an image i wish i could sketch, and i LOVE backs of people for some reason. I think the imagination soars with these stamps from Unity Stamp Co. This company i found through Becca Feeken Amazing Paper Grace website. They have some unique sentiments. Just search for unmounted rubber stamps, with the keyword UNITY it is a different company than another one by the same name. You could alternatively use it in your Misty or Betterpress if that is your preference as the stamp is unmounted. If you can't find the A2 Distressed Edges Nestabilities DIE from Spellbinder in stock you could try finding one on ebay or even try gently and slowing tearing the edges of each layer. Let me know if you try making this card, I'd love to see a pic of it!
