Give a Cheer
I shared a reel on Instagram and used the music 'Good Vibrations' from the Beach Boys, which captures the fun and silly vibe I was going for with this card. I imagined the scene with two old dears sitting up having a chin wag after '40 winks', roused by the noise of children celebrating Halloween. I was looking for sentiment sets to help me stitch together something along the lines of 'allo luv', 'it's 'alloween again innit?!' Yes, in my head they're Cockney! After years of living in London, some of those years, just off Brick Lane, these were the accents in my head! Hehe. I didn't find sentiments in my stash with those options, that fit the speech bubbles easily, so settled on the sets I used and think it turned out equally fun. I cut the speech bubbles from white cardstock, which was way too stark for this night scene, so grunged them up a bit with some Walnut Stain distress ink and roughly sponged with a sponge dauber for a bit of muddy texture. Speaking of texture, I used some Distress Grit Paste Crypt to create the texture around their bodies, on the tombstones and the stone pillars of the graveyard entrance. It worked a treat to bring the vision of my scene to life. It looked nothing before adding those little subtle gritty details!
