Those a good photos, Ro! We get them a lot here. They try to roost in the upper portion of our property in the trees, but Kenneth scares them off. The Golden Eagles have been catching them quite a bit this year.
Wow! I have never seen wild turkeys like this! We had one on our back porch once and never figured out where he came from. He had to fly over the 6' fence that completely surrounds our back yard. We are in a very residential area and no turkey farms are anywhere around. The only problem with him was the horrendous mess on the back patio, as he stayed all day. When I ran out he went to the back fence and then came back. Kept pecking on the sliding glass door and I'm surprised he didn't break it. Was about the size of the ones in your pictures!
So cool to see wild turkeys! We don't have them here (that I know of). They would be safe here because we had our Thanksgiving in Oct and I didn't cook turkey again this year!
We love to see the wild turkeys in the neighborhood. They visited us again today. They could have rang the door bell when we first saw them. I wasnt able to get any shots of them while they were at the door but I got within 15 feet of them for a couple shots in the yard. I hated to see them leave. Thanks so much for all your comments and friendly messages :o)Ro
