This was a quick card to make because I used ephemera instead of doing the die cutting myself or coloring. This way I can rapidly drop it in the mail, there is something so special about getting a cursive handwritten letter and handmade card in the mail that warmly lets you know you are thought of.

First I had to decide on the size of the card. Yellow flowers I had ordered for my spring stash were too big for this card although will be useful for scrapbooking. This is one of the toughest things for me in making a card, trying to figure out what the size of something is, I need to see pictures of it relative to something else, not jibberish of 'A'something or metric or even inches. I need to see a picture of it beside something else like a hand that I can guess the size of.

The MINTAY 'Spring is Here' colors are beautiful and spring like and perfect for Easter. I chose a beautiful background of muted pink gingham called Mintay 'Spring is Here 01' in a 12x12 size. That's the sheet to use if you want a larger card. I used Mintay's 'Spring is Here' Collection 6x6 paper pad because i chose to do a small USA A2 card that, if you cut an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper in four is the size of one of those fourths. I wish there was a A2 size Mintay paper pack with this incredible theme. There would be less waste.

I used my Fiskars wire paper trimmer to cut Spellbinders 'Sunkissed' yellow cardstock for the cover front.

My treasured Gina K Masterlayout 4 scallop die was perfect for the gingham paper size. How I wish I had discovered her masterlayouts years earlier! I only have this one and Masterlayout2 but discovered they are my go-to quite often! I used Anna Griffith Empress die cutting machine to do the rapid paper cutting. It's a workhorse and electric.

Bearly Glue was used to attach the yellow cardstock to the open and close white Neenah 110 lb cardstock portion of the card. Then Bearly Glue attached the gingham layer to the yellow card front.
Finally I used foam circles from Hobby Lobby to attach the Chick and Birdhouse to the gingham paper. That gave it added depth and it still fit into the Hobby Lobby A2 size envelope.
I used Gina K double sided adhesive to attach the 'Spring is Here' ephemera die-cuts of a daffodil and yellow egg. As I laid the different ephemera die cuts out and arranged them I noticed the hellow of the chick and the yellow of the egg and the center of the daffodil all being yellow like the 'Sunkissed' cardstock really made the card look professional or refined and pulled together. Real art. We are artists after all.

The stamp 'Happy Easter' was from my stash, I'd have to look it up. The EASTER I wanted to use was too large for this size card and proportions. Often I artistically find that cards need smaller letters in the words than a scrapbook page does just because the proportions are so different.

Let's see. My Misti or Sweet Petunia gets honorable mention, it is so helpful for repeat stamping IF I place the card securely in the corner, the magnets just don't hold the cardstock in place and it popped up even making this card when two magnets were suppose to be holding it down. POSITION IN THE CORNER is my tip.

No colors and no inks were used to color in a spring stamp, that's why it was so rapid to make. Yet I still spent two afternoons playing with it. But it's so much fun to be creative it's well worth it. I don't have alcohol inks but it's in my cardmaking bucket list to invest in someday. Maybe over a few years? But then it feels pricey to get ephemera as well, but I needed this card quickly so was a good pathway to completion.

Enjoy artistic cardmaking!
