Journaling: Christmas wouldn't be the same without our Norwegian traditions. Passed down from my mother's parents and grandparents, the traditions have become an important part of our holiday season. My aunt makes homemade lefse and it is served on Christmas Eve along with lutefisk and meatballs. The stinky fish is truly an acquired taste and not everyone in the family eats it. The dinner is finished off with a tray of delicious scandinavian pastries. Be careful passing the plate! The krumkake, sandbakkeles and rosettes tend to slide as they are passed from person to person around the table! I hope to pass on these special traditions to my own children so they can enjoy the traditions of a Christensen Christmas!
