This l/o captures the first moments I had with Katie. They were very brief and without these pictures, I may not have remembered them as well. She was born in her 35th week of pregnancy. I was induced and delivered her after 20.5 hours of labor and it was quite a scary moment for everyone. Katie was struggling with her breathing and I was handling a forcepts delivery well and bleeding out fast (little to my knowledge). We had a few seconds together and they whisked her away. These are the things I remember about the moment. I have included on the page a few cards I recv'd, which I scanned and reduced their size to place next to each picture. I also reduced the size of her announcement that was mailed to everyone, as well as the announcement in the church bulletin, and used it as an embellishment. Her maternal Great- Grandmother gave her an old fashioned bead bracelet with her name on it which I included on this page, as well as, to scale scan of her footprints (they were so tiny for a 7lb 1 oz. preemie...yes, she was really early too). The only other enhancement I used that was not a "purchase" was the little old fashioned bead bracelet miniatures that actually came from her shower cake. She truly was and is a miracle in our lives!
