April is tent caterpillar season in NC. It’s just heaven for little boys - caterpillars everywhere for several weeks. Jeremy is particularly bug-loving, so he's just in his glory. This was our conversation after he brought one to me today while I was on the deck:
Jeremy: Mom, look at my little cutie-wutie. His name is Black.
Me: He's very pretty.
Jeremy: He told me he's hungry. Will you make him his lunch?
Me: No, he needs to eat lunch with his mommy and daddy,
over there in the woods.
Jeremy: Oh, OK.
At this point, he went back out to play. A few minutes later, he was back, this time with three caterpillars crawling on his hand:
Jeremy: OK, Mom, I found his mommy and daddy, now we can take them all inside for lunch.
