Sorry about the cake....actually the traditional cake is VERY DELICIOUS. But I guess you got a generic cake made at the hotel. When you get the right person to make it for you, it is really out of this world. BUT on the bright side....the LO came out beautiful. NO PROBLEM......lol

Always Remember This (L) Side

We had a choice of 3 different cakes from which to choose. We decided to be "traditional" and have the Caribbean Rum Cake. The Jamaican custom is for the Bride's family to collect ingredients from all the guests that will be invited to the wedding within a year. The mother of the Bride soaks her collected ingredients in Jamaican Rum for months in preparation of the occasion. This cake, although it "looks" beautiful is very deceiving!! It was terrible :-( Very moist , VERY rummy & very similar to fruit cake (whoever likes fruit cake-sorry-not me!) The icing was pure sugar and my mouth actually froze during my first (& only) bite due to the sweetness. But "NO PROBLEM", it looks great for the photos!!!
