I did this layout after I took the Product Playground class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I challenged myself to use a mixture of embellishments on my page - and try using a circle like I have been seeing in the gallery so much.
I put a page pebble on the purple patterned paper and cut around it to create the center of the largest flower.
"My birthday was special this year because I spent the day with my brother. I took time off from work so I could play on my birthday. Keith and I hung out at the beach and ate Subway sandwiches for a picnic lunch. I wanted to show Keith my favorite bookstore so we stopped at Mysterious Galaxy to browse. Of course, I found a few books to buy – some new authors to read. Keith and I finished off the afternoon with a game of Scrabble. Chris doesn’t play seriously so it was fun birthday treat to have a worthy opponent. Keith and I played a very competitive game – I only won by a few points."

When Chris got home from work, we all went to dinner at Dominic’s, our favorite Italian restaurant. Chris made me a delicious chocolate cake. I opened my presents from Chris and Keith. Keith gave me the book Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen. Chris gave me the cordless track ball I wanted and a gift certificate for a back massage – a great surprise! Chris’ parents gave me a subscription to a monthly scrapbooking kit club – very cool. We finished off the celebration with a few more games of Boggle and Sorry. I chose Boggle because it is one of my favorites. Chris will not play very often because I always win. Well, my brother is an expert Boggle player too and he beat me on my birthday. I hope Keith comes back to visit soon so we can have a rematch."
