Journal: Aug 21, 2017 Dubbed the "Great American" solar eclipse because it was visible in a wide band from America's West coast to the East coast - and I missed it! Dennis went to the repair shop because we forgot some shoes; I stayed inside at the motel. Noticed it had gotten very dark outside but totally forgot about the eclipse! It looked as dark a night at one point. (Note: photo from web).
