I did this for the July scrap challenge. Everything on it is a scrap piece... including the background papers and the journaling scraps. I don't think it shows very well, but right below the title I cut the diamond into fourths and then placed zots behind it to give some dimension. And placed a flower design cut from the unshown portion of the pp on top of that and used an eyelet to fasten it with. I had to distress my journaling scraps just a bit because one piece got caught up a little in the printer but it was a happy mistake. The white swirl is a rub-on. The four circles around the photo are eyelets and the star in the corner is a punch. Oh, and I do want to stamp his first name with my trusty alphabet stamps in black on the yellowish paper at the bottom yet.

Journaling reads: It was August 2002, and {girlfriend's name}, her family {with listing of the member's names}, and I decided to enjoy the festivities of the Iowa State Fair together. As usual, I had my camera along so as to not miss that instantly classic photo. So, when {his name} took a seat on one of Heritage Village's audience benches facing me, I was ready, I raised my camera and watched in dismay as his smiling face suddenly became a scowling one. I pleaded for him to give me the happier expression again. No dice! In fact, I soon discovered that no amount of cajoling or begging was going to help at all. So, after several minutes, I gave up and took the photo anyway. Ironically, I think I prefer it this way. Sure I don't have the typical smiling subject, but what I got instead was a great image of {his name}'s strong, stubborn, independent personality. To this day, (several years later) he usually scowls at me whenever I point my ever present camera in his direction. And I usually snap the photo anyway. Of course now, there is always a smile hiding. And I think, it's because, just once, I let him win a SHOWDOWN with my camera.
