This is a great edge distresser for beginners who are trying to distress the edges of their papers. Like previous reviewers said, if using thinner paper you do need to work on smaller sections of paper in order to prevent extreme tears that aren't intended. I haven't used it on any other material other than paper, but I think that's all it's intended for. I love it! Works beautifully on cardstock! It's only $1, you can't lose!

This tool does take a lot of practice in order to use it properly and effectively. Luckily, you can either use it with the matching stencils, or take off the tracing guard and use it freestyle, which I use it the most for. You can adjust the height of the blade to meet the needs of whatever material you're trying to cut, which is my other favorite feature! Unfortunetly though, this is not my primary tool for cutting shapes.
