Stuck to the backing (25 June 2014)

A mix of plastic buttons and chipboard embellies, they are stuck on a foam squares to the backing. Guess what, the glue on the foam is tougher than the chipboard - I'm having hard time peeling the chipboard buttons from the backing. The chipboard layer peels with the foam square. yuck.
PS same happened with the other similar button set from Fancy Pants.

    wonderful (25 June 2014)

wonderful little frames, the various shapes and smaller sizes make them perfect as design elements whether in pocket pages or 12*12 pages. Approx. size is fairly small, 2.5 * 3.5 inside opening for the photo.

    Mediocre quality (28 May 2014)

Same thing as with the other set (coral / blue): the tapes are peeling off at the corners on the next day or so. They also tear on the roll when I'm trying to unroll a larger strip. Love the colors, hate the quality.

    mediocre quality (28 May 2014)

Yes the colors are lovely, the matching sets are great for projects. But the tapes are very thin and tear on the roll, and they PEEL OFF the page the next day. No matter how well I tried to glue them back, run them hard with the bone folding tool, they still get un-stuck. sad.

pass it by (17 June 2013)

I should have read the reviews before buying..
yes, you need to press hard to get anything to print. yes, it crinkles at the bottom of the backing (can be ignored). yes, the cutting is a hit and miss. What bugs me the most is that IT DOES NOT HAVE SPACE BAR!!! no button to just run the tape through. not for sentences, for sure! you can't pull on the tape and you can't type short words - so everything has to be spelled like "--best-day-ever---" (and if you don't put some dashes in front, chances are it will cut off the first letter).
the back is too sticky it's not repositionable, but some reviews said it buckled and came off the cardstock in a day or two. Can't press the strip too firmly b/c it will whiten up under a slight touch.
    bad, bad, bad all around.

    not a full set! (02 February 2013)

it was a great pack of alphas, the size is great for spelling long messages, and the colors and letter styles vary nicely. That is, until I realized there is not a single P in the set!!! oh yes, some of the d's can be used instead, but it's just not the same.. someone very thoughtfully added extra A, E, I O U Y's, but totally skipped the P's... sigh

Awesome quotes - perfect for titles (22 January 2013)

I have a number of these rub ons and really love the quotes - the text is versatile, print is nice, and black can go anywhere. I've used them for titles or random words or journalling. The only reason I'm taking off a star is that I don't like how gentle one has to be with the sheet. The rub ons stick with a minimal pressure, sometimes before you even position them correctly. Also, once you cut the sheet once, the entire back paper comes off and you have to be really careful to protect the remaining quotes from sticking somewhere you don't want them to go.

  • Great for big cuts - not so great for fine details (04 December 2012)

I got this trimmer to replace the smaller portable fiskars trimmer. First, it's big and solid - will sit on the desk and not move around, and it's easy to fold and store away (the flap with the blade has a "latch" so it's won't open when stored upright). second, the light is a bonus) it comes on and off automatically, it's nice to see exactly how you line up the papers. The blade is big and solid and I had no trouble using it, and it doesn't dull the paper like other blade styles, but you have to press hard all the way through, and maybe run a couple times. Minus: what you don't see on the photo is that there are no gauge marks close to the blade - so you can't line up 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch on the spot, one has to measure and mark first, then use the trimmer. Second minus is that the lip on the top and bottom does not go all the way to the blade - so you can't use it to line up and trim a thin strip of paper, only big sheets. Third, you can't see exact spot where the blade cuts horizontally - if you like to make partial cuts (not the entire 12" top to bottom, but from 1st inch to 11th), you have to guess where the blade is cutting.
overall, it's big and solid and it does the big job, but get something else for finer details.
