"Sometimes, playing in the backyard requires deep concentration.
Sometimes, you wish you could play in the rocks and dirt in peace.
Sometimes, you just don’t want to be bothered with Mommy and Pappa following you with a camera. But that’s not to be little ones. You see, every moment of curiosity, every moment of exploration, every moment of discovery, brings such joy or consternation to your faces that we are determined to capture these special times in our scrapbooks. This is not only so that we could remember but so we could show you when you are older. This is starting to sound like “Take your medicine, it’s good for you (well, you haven’t even heard that line yet) but believe me when I tell you. You’re going to love it when you’re older. You’ll want to see yourselves when you were babies, curious about what treasures the backyard held. Thoughts on Parenthood, June 26, 2005"
