We got engaged last weekend! OF COURSE I had to scrap that!!!

Journaling reads:
After spending a week in the northern part of the state for work, Justin came home on a Friday October afternoon and suggested that we visit our local botanical gardens since he liked seeing the fall colors up north. Well, sure! Why not go to the gardens? I enjoy taking photos there, and since both of us like yard work and landscaping, we also enjoy seeing the flowers to spark ideas. His suggestion was not unusual.

The next day, Saturday, October 8, 2011, we visited the gardens. After strolling through the gardens for an hour, we sat down on a bench in the Sunken Garden, a secluded, English-style garden with tall hedges and a fountain. As we sat, Justin noted that some donation bricks in the ground were new and some were old based on the wear of the white paint in the message on the bricks.

“Go read that one over there,” he said as he pointed to a brick with bright, white writing about 10 feet away. I gave him a funny look, and I said that I didn’t really want to read any bricks. Hey, I went to the gardens for pictures and hopefully ideas ... not for reading bricks!

Jokingly, he said, “I’ll give you a dollar if you go read it.”

I rolled my eyes, got up from the bench, walked to the brick, and read it.

And that's when I said YES.

It may be hard to see, but this layout is laying against a white, flat piece of styrofoam. This is a clear layout.

More photos of the proposal are in my blog: http://thisislaurenbiz.blogspot.com/

Thanks for looking!
