This is wonderful!!!! Love the shadow picture and the pitures of your boquet! And cool that those little flowers came in handy!! Yea! I had to chuckle when I read about how you couldn't bring yourself to 'distress' this. For some weird reason, I am the opposite, there's something cool about distressing the edges and inking them, and tearing and rolling the papers! Especially if it's a guy page, I usually distress something on it! But I also like the nice clean look. Anyway, this turned out beautiful!!
I got tickled reading about your inability to distress your page~ I am the total opposite, I can't stand not to rip and tear it-lol~ Well despite your hesitation, it turned out so beautiful! I love the punching and wonderful flowers!
Happy Anniversary!!!! I love your absolutely beautiful page, my friend! I really love the photo of your shadow! So touching and pretty! I love how you come up with solutions for your hubby who doesn't like his photo taken!!!!
I just loved your description, Laura! OCD or not, your LO came out beautiful and the photos are fabulous. Love the song/title-I just titled a LO "bright eyes" while thinking of that song yesterday! You know what they say about great minds...don't worry about the distressing; your style is great the way it is, but if you do want to play around with it, buy an extra sheet of the same paper and do the "scary" stuff before you attach everything to it, so it won't be so intimidating! love this, and happy belated anniversary-the weather was amazing, wasn't it?!
I LOVE the photo Laura!!! AND the page!! I totally hear you about the penchant towards neatness....I have to fight it too! I was working on a mixed media tag yesterday and really struggled with the messy stuff! lol!! Never-the-less, I love the design of the page, a total fave for me! Gorgeous work hon! AND Happy Anniversary to both of you! xo
I got nearly the same amount of pleasure out of reading your description as viewing this lovely, elegant page! You are so creative Laura, not only in your scrapbooking, but in your solution to the photo resistant hubby, resulting in the beautiful photo, and your writing! Beautifully done! Thank you for your kind comment on my latest. Your continued support is most welcome!
S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G presentation - love the shadow pic - very pretty distress work and I love the way the image pops through the ink. Very pretty punch work, papers and details. (Funny description- too bad about not getting a pic of BOTH of you on your anniversary.) FAVES
you are not alone! I struggle with tearing things up too! I really admire all the heavily distressed LO's of others, but when I try to distress things up....I hate how it looks sitting in front of me. Anyway, your page is very pretty and I love the floral arrangement
It is very beautiful and I loooove the photo's! your details are lovely even it they didn't turn out to be what you intended! I fully understand your OCD dilemma, it took me a long time to try and do a little distressing and I still can't bring myself to misting!
Lovely page. I know what you mean too. I was terrified to dampen paper and tear it and distress it and all that stuff but I finally did it and was happy with the end result. It does take courage I'll admit but I guess that's one reason to buy two of the same papers! :-) Your page turned out pretty!
Well..whatever this lo started out to be...turned out gorgeous!!!! Your photos are superb, love the shadow one; the flowers are beautiful and the title is excellent!
Great title and wonderful photos, and a very elegant page!! Even though you may have scrappers OCD, lol, your addition of the "bouquet outside" photos "messes" it up a bit!! It's a lovely page, the soft colors are beautiful, and that floral cluster with the ferns is gorgeous!!!
This time I thought I'd really create a distressed layout. What? Well, what happened? (This is where the needle skips across the record.) I have discovered that I have some sort of scrapper's OCD. I just can't fully do it. I intend to, but then I can't commit. I decide to do punch work and can't tear it. I ink the page and can't "damage" it. I end up heading towards "neatness." It's like a blinding light that I just can't look away from. Anyway, these photos were taken in hopes that this time it would be different. *Sigh*
The photos were taken on October 25, 2012. They're an usual kind of anniversary photo, since my hubby isn't in the pictures with me. He doesn't like to have his picture taken. So I took a photo of myself in a shadow, wearing my dress on our anniversary and holding my old dried wedding bouquet. I had my hair done and everything. Then I set the bouquet on some old surfaces around the yard that had moss on them and thought it was the perfect set of pictures for a nice distressed layout. But the layout took on a life of its own. Maybe another time....
The weather was stellar on this anniversary date, a whopping 23 C (75 F) and sunny! I couldn't ask for more...except for my husband to be in the photo with me. ;)
My friend Katie ("KDQ") thought of the cool title, my mom (Quick Silver") gave me the pink sparkly paper, Lynne ("LynneJ") gave me the pretty ferns, and Sue ("GrandmaSue") made the white flowers for me and gave me the dimensional stickers. Thank you, ladies!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VIEWED THIS LAYOUT AND/OR CHOSE TO LEAVE A COMMENT ON IT.
