Journaling: Jocelyn, my sweet little girl, you would think that I would want you all to myself. That I want to be the center of your world because you’ll certainly be the center of mine. But no. My wish is that you will turn out to be a daddy’s girl just like your big sister Kimberly. I know this is surprising to some of our friends and relatives. Why wouldn’t I want a mommy’s girl, especially when Kimberly’s a daddy’s girl?

You see, I know you, Kimberly and I are going to have a lot of special moments in the future. A lot of girly moments. We’ll be able to shop, chat over coffee, talk about boys. And I would love for you to be a daddy’s girl so that daddy never feels left out. Because you know what? He has a lot of great qualities and he would do anything for his two little princesses…even play Barbies.

So you go ahead and spend time with daddy. Build that special bond with him. I promise I won’t be jealous. I’m your mother and you’re my daughter. We already have that special bond…from the moment you were born.
