I was blessed with two daughters. Most of my scrapbook pages feature my younger daughter because I did not start scrapbooking until my older daughter was graduated from high-school and out on her own. We moved to the central part of Oklahoma in 2000, but she stayed in Tulsa - where she works at Barnes and Noble as an assistant manager.

She spent four long years with the wrong man. She was miserable, and the day she called me to say, "I'm leaving him," I got in the car, drove to Tulsa, helped her pack, and drove her to the lawyer myself. He was abusive and cruel and she could not be rid of him soon enough.

A couple of years later, she met a new man, who became the love of her life. I know that he is right for her because she is "my daughter" again - the little girl that I raised from childhood who laughs, giggles, shares her insights in conversation, and is relaxed and happy.

This is their engagement photo - they married in January of 2009. I'm just thrilled to see that she's found her smile again.

I did this layout as the sketch entry for the Swirlydoos Love From Venice kit. All the patterned paper and flowers came from the kit, with the exception of the big pink one, which I made from a Swirly tutorial out of a coffee filter which I tinted with home-made shimmer mist. I'm not totally happy with it, and I think at some point, I'll probably tear it out and redo it - it just doesn't look very "flowery" for some reason, and I know I can do better. I found the butterfly at JoAnns, the buttons are from my vintage stash. I covered the big brad in the center of the pink flower using my I-top.
