that is such a sweet photo of the furbabies. The flower work on this page is incredible. I love the colors. Also just noticed how cool that flourish is, and how pretty butterflies, so many wonderful things to take in!
I'm thinking I should try the color challenge now after seeing this. I wouldn't have chose those colors together either, but it looks fabulous! Your layering and flower placement is beautiful and I especially love the story behind the lo!
This is just fabulous! Great distressing, beautiful colors, flowers and swirls. I never would have thought to take a picture of the dogs from behind but it is fantastic. Love the idea of the swirl around the main subject(s) in the photo.TFS and thanks for your sweet comments on my LO.
Love the story and the wonderful photo;pets really do form deep bonds with each other. The colours here look gorgeous and I love those butterflies!Beautiful page!
I really like how the DA flourish centers your focus on the picture, and those purple flower are gorgeous with the green paper. Also, love the way you used the swirly beads.
Love the backstory to this photo! Also the colors are gorgeous together!! Your use of the flowers with bling really add and the flourish frames the photo perfectly-love the black pearls too. Bobby reminds me so of our dear dog who we recently lost-he too had cataracts and was deaf. Sorry for your loss of Trouble-I know how hard it is. Anyway-into my favs!! jen
My second LO for the "Scrap Your Faves" challenge. I chose to lift Lisa's (Lvalent3) "Outer Banks 2008" LO for this lift. I loved her use of the dusty attic flourish to keep the image in the center focused and wanted to try something similar.
I also was trying to work an Anything Goes Monthly Challenge one-of-five into this, so I uploaded the picture to the scrap by color feature of SB.com and used a triadic color scheme. I would never have put these three colors together, but I really like how the final product looks. I suspect I'll use this feature more frequently for color scheme inspiration in the future!
I'm participating in the "Use A Quote" challenge as well this month, and when I saw this picture, I knew the quote that I've selected would be perfect.
I'm also going to put this into the "Scrap Your Pet" challenge forum. The dog on the left is my Welsh Corgi, Cowboy. The one on the right is my friend Erica's aging Australian shepherd, Bobby. Bobby has been a part of my life for over 12 years. He and my last dog, Trouble, were very close companions, and Bobby helped me sooth my grief when Trouble died of cancer.
Bobby came and spent several months with us this past winter - his mom had a very busy job as a new veterinarian and he was spending a lot of time alone, so she allowed him to come live with us until her life calmed down a bit. He's is deaf now, and has pretty severe cataracts and arthritis, but he is the best, best uncle to Cowboy, who absolutely adores him.
The quote about a good traveling companion goes both ways with these two, as well as for me whenever I travel with them on any of their many adventures.
