wow wow wow - a wonderful lo for such a precious photo. love the flower border, the torn circle flowers and the punched border around the circle. all FANTASTIC!!! your labor of luv is an AWESOME family treasure!!!
This Lo is of DH's grandmother. This is the only known photo of her { she is the young lady on the right{no hat] }. She died in childbirth when my MIL was only 5 years old. My MIL does not really remember her mother and only came into possession of this photo a couple of years ago { and my MIL is 80 !} The tag behind the photo tells this story . I was trying really hard to just do a monochromatic LO but just couldn't help adding the little brown roses along with the brown letters. The circle punch work was done using Phamil's technique of cutting apart a punched border to make it circular { I LOVE this effect}. I 'm sorta proud of the fact that I used one small flower punch to achieve a bunch of different looks on this LO. It's the small EK Success retro flower punch. I used two layers in an overlapping pattern for the flowers in between the ribbon on the circle. I used the same punch to make the flowers that I decorated the tag with [ and the centers of the torn circle flowers ...aka ..Gabi's flowers} . The flower border around the paper edge was made with a handmade stencil. I simply punched out the retro flower at even intervals on the long edge of a 8 1/2x 11 piece of cardstock and used it as a stencil. I then finished them off with a gem in each center. I also made the leaf vine and all the flowers on this LO. Tfl!
