I'll tell you up front, this layout took me five hours to do.
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Recollections
Ink: Stampin' Up - Ruby Red/ Colorbok - Black/ Versamark - Dazzle
Stamp: Stampin' Up - Baroque Motif
Punch: Martha Stewart
Other items used: Gold ink pen, tulle, home made glimmer spray, ribbons, silk flowers, red acrylic paint, needle & thread, pop dots, adhesive, gold bling accents

I started out by making a large heart template by hand, the template was used later to back the red heart.
I cut out the red heart, stamped it with Versamark, then set it aside to dry.
I cut four strips of paper, 1 1/2 x 12 inches, punched it with the Martha Stewart doily border punch. I then sprayed them with water and crumpled them up, then I set them aside to dry.
I then inked the background paper with the red then black ink.
I used the heart template to cut out another heart (white glossy cardstock this time) then sprayed the white heart with my home made glimmer spray, after it dried I inked the edge with black ink.
I colored some white tulle with my home made glimmer spray, then dried it with my heart gun then sewed it to the top of the white heart. I took two different types of ribbon and a large decorative brad and attached it to the white heart to hide the stitching. (You can see the white heart/journal card in my gallery)
I printed out my poem on regular photo copy paper then inked it, bordered it on both sides with black and red paper that was punched with the doily border.

When the stamping on the red heart was dry I pleated the black punched border to make the lacy edge. Then I backed the red heart with the original heart template. I then inked the heart's edge.

I printed out the picture of my husband and myself (taken on our recent anniversary at Disneyland) in black and white, then trimmed it, then painted the edges with red acrylic paint, once the paint was dry then I inked it with black ink.

I painted the flowers (from Recollections) with my homemade glimmer spray, then drew in the details with my gold pen. I colored more tulle after I cut circles that were approximately the same size as the flowers, then I assembled them together when the flower had dried.
The piece of fern was white and I inked it black then painted it with some of the red ink that I used to make my glimmer spray with.

I then took my gold pen and drew designs around the background paper and the inside of the heart, and the details on the white heart/journal card.
I then added small tiny gold drop bling along the drawn border.

The heart inside has a poem on it that I wrote a while back. I know its a little sappy, but I like it!

Cupid's Chore
Cupid thought he'd take a shot
at setting two in love.
He pulled his bow and arrow out
while sitting on clouds above.
He lined up the arrow tip
to pierce the young man's heart,
but the boy had moved
and the arrow missed its mark.
Now ladies are rumored as the weaker sex
and Cupid knows ‘tis untrue…
So he placed his bet on the gal
‘cause he knew that she'd follow through.
So once again he took his aim
and the arrow flew.
This time hitting its target on the spot
and oh, what it did do!
So now I stand before you
to complete Cupid's chore.
I'm simply here to tell you
I love you, forever more.
