I am a germophobe and hadn't had a pedicure or manicure in MANY YEARS, until some friends recently asked me to have a "girls' day" with them and give it a whirl. Prior to attending, one friend asked a lot of questions of the salon on my behalf, with respect to the hygience practices, and then I went in to get more details myself. I brought my own nail files to use and the staff brought out bagged, sterilized equipment to use which was then further sprayed with alcohol. Each foot bath had its own plastic liner, fresh for each customer, after bleaching them. So, I decided to give it a whirl. I was heading for a vacation to the Bahamas, so in preparation for that, I had a tropical sunset painted on one of my toes and tropical flowers painted on one thumb. I thought it was very pretty!

I tried to make the flowers in the top right corner look similar to those on my thumb, and I made the scene to the left of the photo look similar to the one on my toe. The copper paper is close to the colour of my toenail polish choice.

The trip was in celebration of our anniversary and my parents' 45th anniverary, so this "mani-pedi" is a nice reminder of the trip. I had to scrap it!

I used the Cricut "Pagoda" cartridge to make the flowers, the "Create A Critter" cartridge for the palm trees and leaves, and the "George and Basic Shapes" cartridge for the sunset. I hand cut the seaguls and ripped the water waves by hand.

Thank you to my mom, "Quick Silver" for the cute little sunhat in the bottom right (and possibly the beach bag and sandals too).
