After walking through an archway we left the nunnery and were in the monastery where orphan boys were living. It was the same situation with the boys as with the girls – most were brought as young orphans and but can leave whenever they want if they can provide for themselves or a family member can provide for them.

After completing their university education many of them will be able to earn their own money so they leave the monastery but the majority of them remain in the monastery and perform the duties of a monk their entire lives.

Also, same as with the girls, it is honorable for young men to spend some time in training and education as a monk which honors their parents and many choose the lifestyle of a monk as a permanent position but most of the boys in this facility were orphans.
